Your food. Your data.

What Fuel stores

Your email, password-protected account, meals, nutrition estimates, goals, weight entries, favourites, recipes and photos you choose to retain. Accounts and private storage use Supabase. The website is hosted on Vercel. Access is scoped to your authenticated account.

AI meal analysis

Selected photos, typed food descriptions, package values and meal corrections are sent to Google Gemini. Fuel uses the free tier; Google may review or use submissions to improve its services. Avoid including faces, personal documents or other sensitive content. Turning off photo retention does not prevent the image being sent for analysis.

Packaged-food lookup

Barcode numbers are sent to Open Food Facts to retrieve community-contributed nutrition labels. Your photo, account identity and meal history are not sent for barcode lookup. Check community values against the package you have.

Device storage & reminders

Fuel stores an account-scoped device journal, unfinished meal drafts and offline upload queue. Anyone with access to your unlocked device may see these copies. Logging out removes the local journal. Android reminders can show the latest recorded daily macros on the lock screen; disable them in Goals & settings or Android Settings if you prefer.

Export & deletion

Export JSON or CSV from Goals & settings. Delete individual meals, stored photos or the whole account there. Account deletion requires your password and typed confirmation; it removes active Fuel account records and photos. Third-party providers may retain backups or legally required records according to their own policies. AI-provider copies are governed by Google’s policies.

Nutrition estimates

Photos cannot establish exact portions, hidden ingredients or full vitamin/mineral content. Review every estimate. Fuel provides a journal, not medical diagnosis or treatment.
